Clean rooms, meeting rooms, and administrative offices will be created at Petrick GmbH in Bad Blankenburg later this year
Bad Blankenburg. Petrick GmbH in Bad Blankenburg recently celebrated the topping-out ceremony for its new extension after eight and a half months of construction. The manufacturer of X-ray tubes and X-ray emitters for the medical and technical sectors invested approximately 1.6 million euros in the two-story new building.
“We are about two months behind schedule, but we believe we can make up for the lost time this year,” says André Petrick, who runs the company together with his wife Antje Petrick. Now that the shell of the building is complete, the roofers and eventually the window installers can begin their work. The current plan is for the clean rooms on the ground floor and the consulting and administrative offices on the upper floor to be ready for use by the employees by the end of the year.
There will be a breakthrough between the existing building and the new extension, connecting both complexes. This will allow all of the nearly 50 employees – a number that has recently increased – to find space in the cafeteria and gather in larger and smaller meeting rooms for consultations. “It was especially important for us to involve regional companies and partners in this expansion,” says André Petrick. The connection to the local region is important, and the companies in the area are strong and reliable partners.
As the managing director explains, they supply globally across all industries. The past year was exceptionally successful. While the company had to implement short-time work for a few weeks due to COVID-19, “everything is running smoothly again now,” says André Petrick. The company has been around for about 30 years and has grown step by step since then. Further plans are already in the works.
Construction manager Frank Wehr read the topping-out speech before the champagne glasses clinked and the employees were guided through the shell of the building.
