Our Expertise
precise X-ray solutions for individual requirements and the highest quality standards
Petrick GmbH was founded in 1991 and is now operating as a family business in its second generation. Our many years of experience enable us to find solutions for our customers’ special applications. In addition to standard production, we also focus on the specific wishes of our customers. Depending on technical possibilities, we are able to develop a new X-ray tube.
Currently, we manufacture X-ray tubes with focal spots according to IEC standards and focal spots in the microspot range. Here, a minimum focal spot of 30 µm is possible. We also offer line focus X-ray tubes with a continuous rated power of up to 210 W. Our X-ray tubes and generators have an operating range up to 80 kV. The testing facilities are designed for a test range up to 140 kV.
Future-oriented Collaboration
our employees in focus
We are committed to supporting our employees in a family-friendly, sustainable and future-oriented way. Work-life balance is our top priority and we implement this through flexible working hours.
We cover the costs of childcare and offer an attractive company pension plan. Our employees benefit from extensive training opportunities and corporate health promotion, which support both personal and professional development.
In addition, we offer the opportunity to use a company bike and organize team-oriented events to strengthen team cohesion. We reward the achievements of our employees through profit-sharing.
With modern machines and the promotion of e-mobility, we create a future-oriented work environment. Our family-friendly work atmosphere ensures that everyone feels comfortable in our team.
This allows us to produce with the best quality, supported by a motivated and satisfied team.

Our History
milestones of development
Since the founding of Petrick GmbH in 1991, we have continuously evolved. This timeline highlights the key milestones of our journey – from the first X-ray tubes to groundbreaking innovations and our 30th anniversary.

After 8 1/2 months of construction, we are celebrating the topping-out ceremony for our new extension. In the two-story new building, in addition to the clean room in the basement, new consulting and administration rooms are being built on the upper floor. A new, cozy cafeteria with enough space for all employees was created in the area connecting both buildings.

In the course of the construction of the new building and the now 2nd generation of company management, we decided to revise our corporate design after 30 years. A new company logo was created with a modern freshness.

We are investing in our future. To further improve our production processes, cleanliness, and therefore the quality of our products, an expansion building is being constructed this year. Inside this building, a 150 m² cleanroom of ISO Class 7 is being created.

The company founder, Horst Petrick, entered a well-deserved retirement in July 2018 after 27 years of self-employment. His daughter, Antje Petrick, took over the company and continues to lead it alongside her partner, André Petrick, as part of the management team.

Since April 2015, the management of Petrick GmbH has consisted of Mr. André Petrick, Mrs. Antje Petrick, and Mr. Horst Petrick.

In 2015, the adjacent complex was converted into a complete second production building. At the end of the year, an additional neighboring property was purchased.

Development completion and market launch of the 80 kV X-ray tube "Eighty." We now have the ability to offer our customers an 80 kV X-ray tube in a radiation protection housing.

Due to several customer requests, we have optimized the design of our "Vari." The "Short" model was created, making us even more competitive. Its specially optimized installation dimensions allow our customers a direct 1-to-1 replacement with products from other manufacturers.
Always focused on improving our products, in 2010, the cathode system of the technical X-ray tubes was finely tuned, resulting in a highly stable X-ray tube. For the first time, we achieved focal spots of 50 µm with a new design.

The modular system of the "Vari" X-ray tube series, developed in 2009, demonstrates many possibilities for combining various types of glass and side window X-ray tubes with different cooling options and mounting configurations.

The development of a new radiation protection housing for side window X-ray tubes was completed. At the same time, the production area was expanded to facilitate the manufacturing of X-ray tubes.

Since 2006, we have specialized in the construction of technical glass X-ray tubes up to 80 kV, beryllium window X-ray tubes, and radiation protection housings up to 60 kV.

Until 2004, two goals were pursued: the development of new products and, in parallel, the creation of the necessary production space. This was followed by the purchase of an adjacent complex to create storage space.

The company was renamed "Petrick GmbH," and shortly thereafter, the move took place to the current company headquarters in Bad Blankenburg. The first certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 was also achieved.

After 2 years of X-ray tube production, the first in-house development was introduced in 1998. The development time for "the world's smallest electron shield X-ray tube" was 2 months.

In 1996, the production of X-ray tubes up to 70 kV began, initially for the dental sector.

In the meantime, the home garage was converted into a small company building.

The company initially produced only components for the manufacturing of X-ray tubes for the Siemens factory in Rudolstadt.

In 1991, the company "Petrick Glass Component Manufacturing" was founded by electronics engineer Horst Petrick in Rudolstadt (Thuringia). The original workplace was a small garage next to his own house.
